Guide to configuration the App
When first started, the App opens the configuration window.
The free version of the App only requires the configuration of the threshold parameters, “scan mode” and “battery mode”; while the Business App requires the entry of the company name and the access password that will be provided when signing the contract.
By default, a sensitivity threshold of 75 is activated; the user can act on this value to increase or decrease the detection distance of the other users.
Higher values correspond to a greater detection distance. Each smartphone has its own particular sensitivity, therefore this threshold must be configured manually for each device.
The “Scan Mode” drop-down menu allows you to choose two operating modes for scanning the App. By default it is set in “Mode 1” (recommended), if the user experiences problems identifying the other devices, it can change to “Mode 2”.
The “Battery mode” drop-down menu allows you to choose how the app uses the battery resources. With the “High” mode, the App has maximum efficiency and detection speed; obviously he will use a lot more battery. Conversely, with the “Optimized” mode, the App has a slightly shorter detection time but consumes much less battery than the device. When the “Battery Mode” is changed, the App must be closed and reopened for the changes to take effect.
By clicking on the “Save” button, the settings are saved and you return to the main App window.
INITIAL CALIBRATION OF THE APP
Let’s admit that we want to set the App to play when the devices are 1m away; we proceed in this way:
Install the App on a smartphone that will be used as “target” – on this device it is not necessary to make any initial configuration of the App just leave the App active while performing the calibration on the other devices.
Install the App on another phone, start the App and go to the configuration screen (Settings), activate the Threshold flag and set a value of 75, then click on the Save button. At this point we must slowly approach the target phone until the App starts ringing. We measure the distance at which the two phones are located. If the distance is greater than 1 m. we have to go back to the configuration window and lower the threshold value to a lower value, for example 70; vice versa if the distance is less than 1 m. we must act on the threshold by increasing the value. Then click on Save and try again to approach the target phone. By following this simple procedure you must find the correct threshold value for which the App sounds at the distance we have set ourselves.
If the App stops working when the smartphone screen lock is activated, it is necessary to prevent suspension of the App by acting on the settings of your device.
Here are three methods (depending on the version of your operating system) to prevent the suspension of the App:
Open the Settings screen, touch Battery, touch the menu button and touch “Battery optimization”. You can also open quick notifications from the app drawer and touch the battery icon to access the battery screen. Tap the “Not optimized” header and tap “All apps” to view a list of all the apps on your device.
To prevent an App from entering standby mode, you need to touch it and set it to “Do not optimize”. This is the same setting that prevents an App from being limited with Doze. These options exempt apps from Doze, Standby Apps and any future battery optimizations that Google adds to Android.
Open Android settings menu. From here, select the “Battery” option, then tap the three-dot menu button at the top of the screen and choose “Battery optimization.” On the following screen, there is a list of Apps that have already been excluded from Doze & App Standby. Tap the drop-down menu at the top of the screen and select “All apps.” At this point, you will see a list of all the apps affected by Doze & App Standby. From here, find the Help Tracing App and Then select “Do not optimize” in the pop-up, then press “Finish”.
Open Android settings menu. Then, tap Apps. A screen appears with many app categories and settings. Touch App once more. A list of all the apps installed on your smartphone is displayed. Touch the three dots in the upper right corner, then choose Special Access. Several categories of advanced settings are displayed. Touch Battery optimization. Now you see the Apps set as “Not allowed”; these are the Apps that are never turned off from the smartphone, even when battery optimization is activated. Tap “Not allowed”, then choose “All apps”.
Through the back-end area the owner of the company (or the security manager) can view the list of all the events (START, STOP, CONTACTS and TEMPERATURES) and access the statistics; always from this section you can have under control the active users, the contacts that occurred during the current day, the time with the highest concentration of contacts and the total contacts that occurred during the previous week.
